Dr. Seeger completed his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College majoring in biology and chemistry graduating magna cum laud with honors in chemistry and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He then received a masters degree in organic chemistry at the University of Rochester and did research there in the synthesis of anti-tumor antibiotics. Medical school and general surgery residencies were completed at Thomas Jefferson University where Dr. Seeger trained with Dr. Demetrius Bagley who developed ureteroscopy (looking directly into the ureter) with newly developed scopes to treat stones and tumors in the urinary tract avoiding more invasive surgery.

Dr. Seeger moved to the Treasure Coast after completing his urology training in 1988. He has been actively involved in many leadership roles at both Saint Lucie Medical Center (in Port Saint Lucie) and Lawnwood Regional Medical Center (Fort Pierce) where he has served as Chief of Staff at both institutions and is currently Chief of Staff at Lawnwood working hard to improve hospital safety for patients.

Dr. Seeger is a member of multiple medical societies, is Board Certified by the American Urological Association in adult and pediatric urology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.


Valerie Ann Ward MSN, ARNP

Valerie Ward completed her BS degree in Nursing at the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1994 and her masters degree in Nursing at Florida Atlantic University in 2006. In 2001, she was Certified in Medical Legal Consulting by the Florida Risk Management Institute and was Board Certified in Gerontological Nursing.

Ms. Ward worked for two years as a Home Health Nurse with VNA and Associated Home Health. She was Assistant Director of Nursing for Indian River Estates and in 2000 became owner and Geriatric Care Manager for VALCARES Management. Ms. Ward was named Director of Nursing for The Place at Vero Beach in 2002. As Director, she managed resident services, including medical needs and an Alzheimer special care unit, and she directed the 24 hour nursing staff.

In May of 2006, Valerie Ward joined Advanced Urology Associates as Nurse Practitioner, providing care to patients with ongoing urological conditions as well as follow up care to post-op patients.

Ms. Ward has 15 years of geriatric nursing experience and, as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, is committed to providing excellent care for all our patients, with a special focus on those over 50.
